Yucca Valley will have a Fourth of July fireworks show this year, although the Rotary Club, which sponsors the event, said it may be a smaller show than before. Managing editor Tami Roleff explains…
Yucca Valley Rotary Club president John Babrowski said the club has received $4,000 in donations from businesses and individuals, but needs at least another $10,000 in order to put on a show to compare with previous years. Babrowski said in order to raise more money, donation cans will be placed in local businesses. And for the first time, there will be a charge to enter the grounds for the fireworks show, with a minimum donation of $2 for adults, while children under 13 are free. The gates to the Yucca Valley High School football field will open at 5 p.m., where there’ll be vendors and a food fair, live entertainment and activities for kids. The fireworks are set to start at 9 p.m. Donations may be made at Windermere Real Estate, Advanced Hearing or by mailing checks to Yucca Valley Rotary Foundation, at PO Box 200, Yucca Valley CA 92286.
