The Rotary Club of Yucca Valley has announced that due to an unforeseen issue with the Yucca Valley High School football field, they have moved the 30th annual Fourth of July Fireworks show and Community Fair to a new location. The fireworks show has been held for the last 29 years at the high school football field, but the field has become uneven and dangerous for the football teams so the school district decided last week they need the summer to tear out the field, install new irrigation and re-sod the field, leaving it in a condition not suitable to the Fourth of July event. The Brehm Youth Park along with the Tri-Valley Little League, and other partners stepped up to help Rotary continue the tradition and the event will now be held at the new youth park, at the corner of Palm Avenue, and Little League Drive, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club facility. Spectators will be able to sit on the new grass fields with their blankets and chairs and still be able to enjoy the fireworks. Z107.7 entertainment, vendor booths, food and refreshments will be within the compound. There will be glow items, face painting, and fun things for the whole family! Rotary Club President Ignazio Ficara hopes that the community will come to the new location and have a great time and support this community event to celebrate our country’s birthday. The gates will open at 5 p.m.., with live entertainment starting at 6 p.m. on stage. The fireworks show will begin shortly after 9 p.m. There will be a military equipment display and a great vendor fair along with food vendors. For more information please call Cynthia at 760-365-1988.
