More than 50 movies have been filmed on location in Yucca Valley. To celebrate the history of film in the area, the Town of Yucca Valley will hold its first film festival in November. Here with some of the details about this inaugural event is managing editor Tami Roleff…
The Yucca Valley Film Festival will be a three-day event showcasing short and feature films by filmmakers from all over the world. Awards and cash prizes will be awarded in all categories, which include short, animation, feature, student, documentary, script, visual arts, and music video. There will also be an Audience award and festival award. Some of the other events will be a red carpet on opening night, November 15. Saturday, November 16, will be screenings, talks with the directors and producers. The festival concludes Sunday, November 17, with the presentation of awards. There will be also be a movie-themed vendor fair, costume contest, trivia contest, and raffles during the festival.
