Yucca Valley felon on community supervision arrested for suspicion of ammo possession

A man on post-release community supervision for a violent felony was arrested for suspicion of possessing ammunition in Yucca Valley.

On Thursday (December 7), County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Town of Yucca Valley contacted Jeremy Magness, a 28 year-old resident of Yucca Valley, at a residence in the 7300 block of Victoria Ave in Yucca Valley.

Arrest records indicate that Magness was found to be in possession of ammunition.

Since Magness is on community supervision following a release from incarceration, he is prohibited from possessing weapons or ammunition in the state of California.

Magness was arrested in 2014 on suspicion of assaulting a 15 year-old girl who was pregnant with his child at the time. In 2018, he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and in 2020 for an outstanding warrant.

Jeremy Magness was arrested on Thursday for investigation into being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition and for violating post-release community supervision.

He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail.
