The Morongo Unified School District is looking to possibly expand registration for Yucca Valley Elementary School’s Transitional Kindergarten program for the 2019/2020 school year. Reporter Andrew Dieleman tells us more…

The Transitional Kindergarten program is free and open to students who turned 5 years old between September 2 and December 2, 2019. Yucca Valley Elementary School is requesting an interest list from local parents, and will reopen enrollment if enough interest is generated. Students are welcome from all District attendance zones. Classes beginning January 21st and run from 9:40 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Each student will be provided free breakfast and lunch daily. Transportation is not included for the program. If you have a qualified child you are interested in enrolling, contact Yucca Valley Elementary School Principal Celeste Wahlberg at (760) 365-3381.

The school district is also exploring the possibility of bringing a Transitional Kindergarten program to Condor Elementary School in Twentynine Palms. The school District is requesting an interest list from local parents in an effort to gauge public interest. If you have a child who you believe meets the criteria for entrance into the program for the 2020/2021 school year, please contact Condor Elementary school Principal Sara Soto at (760) 367-0750.
