YUCCA VALLEY CRASH CAUSES POWER OUTAGE

A two-vehicle crash in Yucca Valley sheared off a power pole and shut down Onaga Trail for an hour and a half Tuesday evening. Fire Captain Rick Denison said shortly after 5 p.m., “right-of-way issues” led to collision between a vehicle traveling northbound on Bannock Trail and a vehicle traveling westbound on Onaga Trail. There were no injuries in the crash, but the driver of one of the vehicles lost control and hit a street light, sheering it off and causing power lines to fall down onto Onaga Trail. The Sheriff’s and Fire Department shut down the street between Apache and Cherokee Trails until about 6:30 when Southern California Edison came out to de-energize the power lines and repair the power pole.
