A Yucca Valley man who is well known to local deputies was arrested Friday, along with a Yucca Valley woman, accused of beating up another woman and boy. Investigators say that John Ligon, 58, and Nicole Totten, 37, went to a home in the 6400 block of Camarilla Avenue in Yucca Valley about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. A female resident in the home said that Ligon and Totten hit her in her face and Ligon choked a boy, before fleeing with Totten. Deputies located Ligon about 12:30 p.m. the next day in the 7300 block of Hopi Trail in Yucca Valley. John Ligon was arrested for investigation of felony battery with serious injuries, as well as on warrants for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, and vandalism.
In February, Ligon was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after he led deputies on a pursuit through Yucca Valley on a motorcycle that had been reported stolen in Twentynine Palms. John Ligon was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his total bail set at $275,000. Nicole Totten was arrested for investigation of felony battery with serious injuries and an additional charge of bringing drugs into jail was added. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $125,000.
