After holding routine public hearings on creating special community service districts for the new Burrtec Waste facility and Hawk’s Ridge subdivision, the Yucca Valley Town Council will appoint two members to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Also on the agenda, the council will be asked to update the town’s employee handbook, and approve the purchase of an automated license plate reader for use by the Sheriff’s Department. And finally, the council will discuss whether it should request the Sheriff’s Department begin the process to add public safety officers in advance of the first meeting of the Measure Y Oversight Commission, whose responsibility it is to recommend and oversee public safety spending. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
