Yucca Valley collision leads to arrests for suspected felons in possession of a firearm

A two-car collision in Yucca Valley led to two arrests for allegedly being felons in possession of weapons. 

At around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday (July 18), a two-car collision near the intersection of Deer Trl. and Navajo Trl. was reported by a witness. The Sheriff’s Department says that the witness saw two people leave one of the vehicles.

Sheriff’s deputies responded, and say that Bradley Mason and Crystal Horath, 38, exited the car, at which point Mason opened the trunk and handed Horath a black case. Deputies say that Horath fled the scene with the black case. 

Horath and Mason were detained by responding deputies, who say that they were both convicted felons suspected of being in possession of a firearm.

Crystal Horath and Bradley Mason were arrested on suspicion of being prohibited people in possession of a firearm. Horath was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on $30,000 bail.

Mason has an active warrant and was arrested but has not yet been booked, and may be receiving medical treatment.
