Girls in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to join the girls’ club at the United Methodist Church in Yucca Valley. The club, Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior, or GEMS, meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings during the school year. The kick-off party is 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, and will include crafts, face painting, finger nail painting, hopscotch, sidewalk art, and refreshments. There is no cost to join and membership is open to girls of all denominations. A parent or guardian must accompany girls for registration. For more information, call Mary at 760-285-9195.
