After hearing from residents at two previous Town Council meetings, the Town of Yucca Valley is making plans to bring back the swim program and summer concert series this summer. Community Services Director Jim Schooler said the Town is putting a swim program together that will break even on the Town’s maintenance costs. While scaled back from previous years, the aquatics program should include swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swim, and recreational swim. Schooler also confirmed that the Town has signed contracts with eight bands to play at the summer concert series, starting June 29. County Supervisor James Ramos has pledged $10,000 in matching funds for the summer concert series. The Town is accepting sponsorships and donations for the remaining $10,000. Donations may be made online at a link in this story at KCDZFM.com. Two new events, the Run for the Arts 5k and art show scheduled for May 5 and the Kids’ Tinman Triathlon, slated for June 8, have been postponed until further notice.
