The Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ soccer team fell short after a tough uphill battle. Varsity Trojans walked away with a 5-4 loss at home Friday night against Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles; the junior varsity team took its second loss 5-1.

Senior Alan Campos was named Player of the Match, scoring two goals for the Trojans. “The team is coming together more and more with every game, we made a few mistakes on defense and they scored on us,” said Varsity Coach Jorge Rodriguez. “The team really appreciates their friends and family for coming out to show their support to us.”

Meanwhile, the junior varsity team took its second loss 5-1, naming Carter Green Player of the Match for his extraordinary assist in tonight’s game. “The boys came out with their heads down but it’s nothing to be disappointed about,” says JV Coach Adan Mendoza. “We’re coming off of a non-scored game; putting one in the net tells me these boys are working hard and developing. I’m proud of all the hard work each individual gave on the field.”
