Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer played an away game at Desert Mirage High School. Varsity lost 5-0 and junior varsity lost, 7-0. Coach Ernst Gamboa said the entire varsity squad played with a very positive attitude and good teamwork against a very seasoned team of mostly seniors.
“Our young varsity team fought hard, but came up short tonight. Player of the match was the entire defensive line: sophomore Alexis Cortez, freshman Griffin Hilderbrand, senior Brody Arnhold and senior Alam Mendoza. These young men never give up and always work hard.”
Coach Adan Mendoza said junior varsity only had 10 players with no subs. “Our young guys played their hardest. Player of the game is freshman defender Stephen Goddard. We now look forward to an away game in Twentynine Palms this Thursday. We play for bragging rights and for the Elks Cup. Come on out and support our boys’ soccer teams. Lets go Trojan Soccer!”
