YUCCA VALLEY BOYS’ SOCCER DEFEATS WEST SHORES HIGH SCHOOL

The Yucca Valley High School boys’ varsity soccer team varsity defeated West Shores High School, 5 to 2, on an away non-conference game played in Salton City.
Two goals were scored in the first half by sophomore striker Carlos Rodriguez-Santos. Starter goalkeeper Tyler Cooper allowed only one goal, giving the Trojan boys a 2-1 lead at the half.
In the second half, freshman goal keeper Landon Gradilla played his first varsity game of the season and only allowed 1 goal.
On offense, two goals were scored by junior midfielder Alan Campos and one goal by junior midfielder Angel Ramirez.
The very compact defense played well, and seniors Brody Arnhold and Alam Mendoza showed geat leadership.
