YUCCA VALLEY BOYS BEAT DESERT MIRAGE IN BASKETBALL

Yucca Valley High School boys’ basketball played at home versus Desert Mirage. Varsity won 66-51 in a decisive victory to bring the league record to 2-4.

Standouts were Jr Rodriguez, who scored 18 points, five assists, and four steals; Bryce Mitchell, with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Luke Yakimow, Noah Roy and Anthony Olvera all had nine points.

The junior varsity basketball team won 73-20, bringing their league record to 6-0. Tayten Shartel scored 20 points, Jehu Jimenez scored 13 points, and Paul Quin had eight points and six rebounds.

And the frosh-soph team won 63-34, bringing its league record to 6-0. Standouts were Demar Smith, with 18 points, eight steals, and four assists; David Jimenez, with 12 points; and Evan Wilson, who had 12 points and eight rebounds.
