For the third consecutive year, both the girls and boys basketball teams from Yucca Valley High School have joined each other in the CIF Southern Section Playoffs.
The boys team has finished no lower than second place in that time (league champions in 2023) while the girls team netted their 5 consecutive league championship during the 2024 regular season. In the last 5 seasons, the teams have combined for an eyepopping 97-15 record, an 87% winning percentage. The girls have not lost a single league contest during that time.
The boys will face Fontana HS at Fontana on Wednesday. Tip-off is at 7 PM. The girls host yet another playoff game in Trojan Gymnasium on Thursday night. Game time is 7 PM. Tickets are available at gofan.co.
Yucca Valley High School’s boys and girls wrestling teams are also headed to the CIF Championships on Feb. 9 and 10. The girls will be facing off at Marina High School and the boys will be at Great Oak High School.
