YUCCA VALLEY BEATS TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH IN GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

In high school sports, the Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans varsity volleyball team beat the Twentynine Palms Lady Wildcats, 3-1. Yucca Valley head coach Darrell Sterling said freshman EJ Day led with 38 attempts, 18 kills, 15 serves, six aces and 10 serving points. Junior setter Alessa Luckino had 26 assists. Senior middle blocker Emily Vigrass had six solo blocks and four kills. Twentynine Palms coach Missy Bond said the Lady Cats were led by junior Lindsey Scamman with eight kills and five blocks. Senior Tatiyanna Mackall had seven kills, one block, and three ace serves. Seniors Selemara Mapuatuli and Makya Bullion had three kills and one blocking assist each. Sophomore Gabby Mackall had 17 assists. 
 
In junior varsity action, the Lady Trojan team beat the Lady Cats in three.
