YUCCA VALLEY BASEBALL BRINGS WIN STREAK TO 4 WITH WIN OVER INDIO

The Yucca Valley Trojan baseball team defeated the previously unbeaten Indio Rajahs Monday by a score of 9-4, running their winning streak to four games.

Coach Josh Griswold said senior Brandon Goodpaster was outstanding again on the mound, throwing six innings and allowing two earned runs while striking out five. 

Senior Clay Smith hit a two-run home run. Junior Jesse Meza went 3-3 with two triples and a walk. Sophomore Noah Morones went 3-4  and just missed a grand slam in the sixth inning. Sophomore Seth Snead made a remarkable diving catch to end an inning and save a run. Junior Braden Brimhall had a very solid day at the plate, and behind it as the catcher. 

Next up, the Trojans travel to Indio on Thursday night at 6:30 to face the Rajahs under the lights.
