In May, Bank of America announced it was closing its branch in Yucca Valley. Managing editor Tami Roleff reports that after today, BofA customers will have to find some other way to bank…
If you’re a Bank of America customer, you’ll have to bank online, bank over the phone, use an ATM, or drive another 22 miles if you want to do continue doing business with the bank after 5 p.m. today. The Yucca Valley branch of BofA announced in May that it was closing its branch effective September 10. The BofA ATMs in Yucca Valley will stay at their current location—for at least two years. (The BofA ATMs in Twentynine Palms were taken out in January to make way for a Starbucks.) More and more customers are doing their banking online—through their computers, smart phones, or tablets, which means fewer customers are going in to the actual branch to do their business. If you want to continue banking with Bank of America in person, you’ll have to visit the branches in Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs.
