The Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s Yucca Valley Visual and Performing Arts Center will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Saturday, June 8. The special gala will feature the unveiling of the “Founding Donors” wall, live music, and more. A new exhibition, “Perplexing Visions and Unrealities,” will open that evening, and features the work of two painters: Matthew Couper of Las Vegas, and Pablo Romero, of Landers. The gala is from 6 to 9 p.m. at the center, 58325 29 Palms Highway. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
