Yucca Valley and the Hi-Desert Nature Museum were featured on an episode of Jeopardy! Thursday during its College Championship. Under the category “HD,” in which the correct response starts with the letters H and D, the $1000 answer was, “3,300 feet up in the Mojave, Yucca Valley, California is in this type of area & has a nature museum named for it.”

Nibir Sarma, a sophomore at the University of Minnesota, first answered, “What is a desert.” When host Alex Trebek asks Sarma to be more specific, he responded, “a high desert.” This is not the first time Yucca Valley has been featured on the game show; On January 30, 2019, in the category of Valleys, the $1,200 Daily Double answer was “We’re off to the valley in California named for this succulent,” in which the question was “What is Yucca Valley.”
