YUCCA VALLEY AND 29 PALMS HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS IN CIF CHAMPIONSHIPS

Yucca Valley and Twentynine palms High School swimmers traveled to Rancho Santa Margarita to participate in CIF Championships. At the CIF competition this year there were 16 swimmers for each event with two alternates per event. Swimmers who place 1st through 8th received medals.

Both the lady and men Trojans competed in six events at CIF:

Aaden Poyuzina ready for the start of his 50 yard Free Style

The first to race was Aaden Poyuzian in the 50 yard Free with his time of 24.06.

Markima Evdokimoff swan the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 1:09.15.

The 500 yard Freestyle had sister and brother competing. First to swim the 500 Freestyle was Markima Evdokimoff who bettered her time by 4 seconds and came in with a time of 6:05.17.

Samuel Evdokimoff was seated 13th and he placed 8th for a medal, he bettered his time by 17 seconds with a time of 5:31.01.

The 200 yard Freestyle Relay team of Markima Evdokimoff, Vanessa Ozburn, Hailey Weiss and Kendall swam for a time of 2:00.97.

The last event of the day was the Lady Trojans who swam the 400 yard Freestyle Relay with the team of Markima Evdokimoff, Vanessa Ozburn, Ashley Amstutz and Kendall Cox. These ladies were seated 16th and jumped up two places to come in 14th with a time of 4:30.46.

The 200 yard Medley Relay team of Daviahn Thrasher swam the Backstroke, Colton Charles swam the Breaststroke, Aiden Sullivan swam the Butterfly and George Bourikas was the anchor and he swam the Free Style. These men were seated 15th and bettered their rank by two places with a 13th place finish and a time of 1:59.55.

Aiden Sullivan swam the 50 yard Free Style and received a medal for placing 7th with a time of 23.29.

C. Charles swims the Butterfly and won a medal for 8th place

Colton Charles, a senior, reset his high school record for the 5th time this swim season and received a medal for placing 8th in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 57.58.

The last race for the TPHS men was the 200 yard Free Relay with the team of Colton Charles on the first leg of the race, followed by Daviahn Thrasher, George Bourikas and Aiden Sullivan who swam the anchor with a time of 1:40.73.
