A Yucca Valley High School alum will be playing in one of the country’s most prestigious soccer tournaments later this month. Cody Shelton will be competing with the Orange County FC soccer club against the LA Galaxy team in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Orange County team advanced after a shocking upset against the Las Vegas Lights earned them a $25,000 bonus for advancing farthest in the open division. Tickets for the game, set for June 12, go on sale today.
