The Yucca Mesa Community Center is holding its first annual Mesa Fest today, Saturday, September 24. Mesa Fest is a fund-raiser to support the Yucca Mesa community center. Some of the events will include a chili cook-off, horseshoe competition, live music featuring local bands, craft fair, beer garden, a home-brewed beer contest, children’s activities, and displays of public safety equipment. Mesa Fest is an all-day event, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Yucca Mesa Community Center, 3133 Balsa Avenue, just off Aberdeen in Yucca Mesa.
