This coming weekend, the 29 Palms Art Gallery will offer two youth art classes. Saturday, January 5, the gallery will host “Design a Mask” taught by clay artist Ed Keesling. While learning about the cultural significance of masks, students ages five to 11 will create their own personalized masks.
Class begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 10:45 a.m.
The gallery will also offer a kid’s “Portrait Painting” class on Monday, January 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. Students ages 12 to 17 will follow the lead of national portrait artist, Alane Levinsohn. The students will learn the process of painting with oil paint using a wet-on-wet method. Materials will be provided.
Cost is $7.50 or $5 for Youth Art Club members. Class sizes are limited to 15 students and pre-registration is preferred. To register, visit 29palmsartgallery.com or call 760-367-7819. The 29 Palms Art Gallery is located at 74055 Cottonwood Drive in Twentynine Palms.
