The latest offering from Theatre 29—Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein”—is based on the classic 1974 comedy film masterpiece. The story follows bright young Dr. “Fronkensteen” as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life. With scary and hilarious complications, the show remains true to the humorous and irreverent spirit of the original film with outstanding performances. Theatre 29 has overflow seating so more seats can be added even if the online listing says it is sold out.
“Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein” runs Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. through November 1 with a 2:30 Sunday matinee October 26. Tickets are available online at www.theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-366-8471. Tickets are $8-$12. With some mature themes, the show is not suitable for children under 13.
