“YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN” OPENS FRIDAY AT THEATRE 29

“Alive. It’s alive! It’s alive!” “Young Frankenstein,” a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ classic 1974 comedy film masterpiece, opens this Friday at Theatre 29 for a five-week run. The story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life. But this musical comedy hit, winner of the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award, is not without scary and hilarious complications. The show includes such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and the famous “Puttin’ On The Ritz.” Artistic director is Gary Daigneault, the music director is Bill Barrett. “Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein” will run Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. from October 3 through November 1. Matinee performances are Sunday, October 12 and Sunday, October 26 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-366-8471.Theatre 29 is located at 73637 Sullivan Road in the City of Twentynine Palms.
