“WORKING” OPENS FRIDAY AT THE HI-DESERT CULTURAL CENTER IN JOSHUA TREE

“Working,” a musical featuring a live band and 17 local performers, will run at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center's Blak Box theater in Joshua Tree February 8 through 17. Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of the same name, it praises the decency and dignity of America’s working class. Adapted for the stage by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso and with a score by an illustrious list of songwriters, “Working” is an homage to the hard-working people who make America what it is. The play is rated PG-13.

Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 7:30, and Sunday February 17 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $18-$32.
