WONDER VALLEY SQUATTER ATTEMPTS TO RUN OVER MAN, ARRESTED

A Wonder Valley man who was squatting at a home was arrested Saturday after he tried to run over a man. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man went to check on a friend’s home in the 2500 block of Marks Road in Wonder Valley about noon Saturday when he discovered a squatter, later identified as Jason Barr, 38, inside the home. When the man confronted Barr, the report states that Barr attempted to run over the man. The owner’s friend blocked the driveway with his car and Barr went back inside the home and refused to come out. When deputies arrived, they conducted a security check of the home and detained Barr. After an investigation, Jason Barr was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
