Woman sought for assault in incident involving non-service dog in Yucca Valley

An unidentified woman with a dog is being sought in an assault on an employee at John’s Place in Yucca Valley.

Around noon on Tuesday (February 28,) a woman described only as a black female brought a non-service dog into the restaurant. Sheriff’s Deputies report that the woman was told she could not bring in a dog that was not a service animal into the restuarant and became angry.

The woman was escorted out of the restaurant by a female employee, when Deputies report that the suspect hit the employee across the face, and a brief altercation took place. The suspect fled the restaurant in a Blue Chevy Malibu.

Deputies are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the restaurant.
