Since 1918, women have served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve was established in 1943. To commemorate the 100th and 75th anniversaries of these events, the Twentynine Palms chapter of the Women Marines Association will hold a celebratory buffet luncheon. All women Marines—active duty, veteran, and retired—are invited to attend with a guest. Members of the public are also invited. The luncheon is set for May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 73002 El Paseo Drive, in Twentynine Palms. Tickets are $35 each.
