WOMAN INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH FRIDAY EVENING

A 24-year-old woman was severely injured Friday evening when her motorcycle crashed head on into a car on Highway 62. According to Fire Captain Dave Tuttle, about 7:50 Friday evening, the woman was riding her sport motorcycle eastbound on the highway when for unknown reasons, she crossed the double yellow lines, just west of Rotary Way, and crashed head on into a small compact car. The motorcycle rider was flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with major injuries. The man and woman inside the car suffered minor injuries from their airbags; they were treated at the scene and released. Their car sustained major damage from the crash. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
