WOMAN INJURED IN ATV CRASH NEAR GIANT ROCK SUNDAY

A 34-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was ejected from her off-road vehicle Sunday at Giant Rock. Yucca Mesa paramedics who were called to an ATV crash at 1 p.m. found a woman, identified only as “local,” who had been riding her ATV about 30 to 40 miles per hour, without any safety gear, when she was thrown from it. The woman suffered head injuries, neck and back injuries, and a possible broken left arm. Mercy Air helicopter landed at the Landers airport and flew the woman to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
