A Baldwin Park woman was arrested Friday in Twentynine Palms after she attempted to siphon gasoline to put into a stolen car. According to a Sheriff’s report, witnesses called deputies about 1:40 p.m. to report that a woman, later identified as Angelina Lee, 33, was trying to steal gasoline from a vehicle in the 70300 block of Orion Street in Twentynine Palms. When a deputy stopped to question Lee, she allegedly provided a false name, and said the 1999 Toyota Corolla was hers. However, a records check of the vehicle showed that the car had been reported stolen, and the deputy located a driver’s license inside the vehicle with her real identity. Angelina Lee was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property, and on a $210,000 warrant out of Baldwin Park for identity theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
