A fatal motorhome fire in Wonder Valley early this morning (March 19) left one woman and one dog dead.
The County Sheriff/Coroner’s office confirmed that deputies were requested by fire fighters at 12:45 am. this morning to assist with a motorhome fire near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Comet Road.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that when the fire was extinguished, fire fighters found the body of an as-yet unidentified 78 year-old female deceased inside, along with a dog.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, though the coroner identifies the cause of death as “accident.” The Sheriff’s office said there were no signs of foul play noted at the time of the incident.
