Witnesses call deputies on driver suspected of DUI after allegedly hitting pole and fence in Yucca Valley

A suspected DUI collision led to an arrest in Yucca Valley.

On Friday (November 14) at around 8:15 p.m., a vehicle was reported as driving erratically in the area of Grocery Outlet. At around 8:40 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says that a vehicle matching the same description collided with an electrical pole and fence near the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Warren Vista Avenue in Yucca Valley.

Deputies say they received a call about the collision from witnesses as well as the driver, identified as Armond Wilkinson, 20. Responding deputies say that Wilkinson smelled of alcohol, and that after testing him, he was determined to be over the legal limit. Wilkinson was taken to the hospital as a precaution, and then arrested. 

Armond Wilkinson was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended license.
