According to a recent report from the Economic Policy Institute, school districts in California, and nationwide, are struggling to hire enough teachers to meet education demands. Reporter Andrew Dieleman outlines how the shortage has affected the Morongo Unified School District…
According to the report, the statewide teacher shortage has resulted from more and more teachers quitting or switching schools and fewer people entering the teaching profession. According to school district Superintendent Tom Baumgarten, the Morongo Unified School District has been able to successfully fill all needed teacher positions thus far, but the shortage has made filling the positions more difficult over the years. The Morongo Unified School District is currently seeking to hire new teachers with a sign-on bonus for many positions. For more information, call 760-367-9191, extension 4226.
