The Joshua Tree National Park Art Show held its opening reception Friday night in which the winners of the 2014 juried art show were announced.
Artist of Distinction: Chuck Caplinger, Twentynine Palms, oil on canvas;
Artist-in-Residence Award: Claudia Bucher, Los Angeles, digital art;
Superintendent’s Award: Howard Spector, South Pasadena, photograph, digital art;
Stephen Willard Award: Greg Lucker, Wildomar, photograph;
Minerva Hoyt Award: Kim Zarney, Cleveland, Ohio; oil on paper;
Honorable Mention: Don Chambers, Redlands, photograph;
Honorable Mention: Vann Nguyen, Sacramento, mixed media.
All 53 artworks accepted into the show will be on display at the 29 Palms Art Gallery through December 28.
