The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Martin Luther King High School Monday to play in the MLK Day Showcase against La Sierra High School from Riverside. The Wildcats came home with a 62-44 victory.
Coach Michael Usher said the Wildcats were led by senior point guard Tarion Napolean with 22 points, six rebounds and two steals, and junior Jaylan Bradberry with 21 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
The Wildcats host the Desert Valley League-leading Indio Rajahs Tuesday night in the Richard Casey memorial gymnasium. The visiting Rajahs sit atop the Desert Valley League, with Twentynine Palms sitting in sole possession of second place, looking to stake their claim for a league championship with a win. Frosh-soph begins at 3, junior varsity at 4:30, and varsity is at 6. Please come out early, and wear white to “white out” the gymnasium.
