The Twentynine Palms High School track and field team traveled to Desert Hot Springs Thursday (March 17) to face the Golden Eagles. The boys were led by Diego Vamstad scoring 11 points. He won the long jump, earned third in the triple, and ran a PR time of 56.89 in the 400m to win the 400m.
The girls lost in a nail biter 49-64. The team was led by captain Mya Bullion and freshmen Avery Soca and Keely Middleton, both triple event winners. Mya Bullion ran PRs in both her hurdle races 19.85 in the 100 and 53.31 in the 300. Keely Midleton ran 14.07 in the 100 and 29.69 in the 200. Avery Soca won the 400m and long jump.
The team will travel to Yucca Valley High School next week to face the Trojans.
