WILDCAT TRACK AND FIELD KICKS OFF 2022 SEASON

The Twentynine Palms High School Track and Field team traveled to Banning Thursday (March 3) to face the Broncos in their first Desert Valley League meet of the season.  

The Girls and Boys 4×1 relays opened the meet with victories with times of 56.08 and 49.22 respectively. Three Wildcats earned first places with PRs (personal records): senior Diego Vamstad in the 400m with a time of 57.88, freshman Dominic Espinoza won the JV discus throw with a mark of 74-05 besting his previous by almost 20 feet. Freshman Jayde James earned first place in the girl’s triple jump with a mark of 27’7.25 improving by almost 2 feet! The boys fell short 64-31 and the girls were victorious 59-46.

The overall top scorer was senior captain Mya Bullion with 11.25 points, freshman Jayde James 11, and freshman Avery Soca 9.25. Diego Vamstad led the boys with 9.25 points. The team will face Coachella Valley this week.
