The Twentynine Palms High School Track and Field team traveled to Yucca Valley to face the Trojans in a rival Desert Valley League (DVL) meet yesterday (March 24).
The Wildcats were led by senior captain, Diego Vamstad, the top scorer with 12.5 points. Diego won the triple jump with a PR of 35’8″ and a DVL qualifying mark. He ran the 400m, and also ran legs of the winning 4×1 and 4×4 relays.
The girls were led by freshman Avery Soca, who scored 16.25 points running the 3rd leg in the 4×1 relay and winning 3 individual events: 400m, 200m, and long jump.
Daysah Parker Bullion and Jaylon James won the discus, Tomi Toyama and Chuck Ell won the 800m races.
Next week the team will travel to Thermal to face Desert Mirage Wednesday (March 30) and also to Yorba Linda to compete in an invitational Saturday (April 2).
