WILDCAT SOCCER FELL TO DHS, PLAYS DESERT MIRAGE TODAY

On Wednesday (December 15) the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ soccer team hosted the visiting Desert Hot Springs Eagles in a thriller. Senior Sam Niles scored an early goal on an assist from freshman William Herrera. Great team defense and counterattacks kept the Eagles at bay until they scored an equalizer late in the first half. A goal in the second half put DHS up 2-1. After several close shots by the Wildcats, the game ended there.  Keeper Alyx Hinton had 19 saves out of 21 shots on goal. League play continues today (December 17) against defending league champs Desert Mirage on the road at 5 p.m.
