The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Indio Tuesday (April 5) night to play their first game under the lights. The Wildcats fell a little short losing 7 to 8. It came down to the very last inning of the game and it just wasn’t the team’s night. The boys fought very hard every inning. Good defensive plays were made by sophomore Noah Barber and freshman Angel Gonzalez. Noah Barber was a beast at the plate going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. One of those doubles hit the top of the left-field fence. The Wildcats were down one in the top of the 7th inning with 2 outs when Gavin Rathbun hit a double in the gap bringing in 2 runs. This was another fun game to watch, and the Wildcats left everything out on that field. The Wildcats will rematch Indio at home tomorrow (April 8) at 3:15 p.m.
