Wet weather, snow and winds expected all over Morongo Basin through the weekend

Extreme weather is expected in the Morongo Basin this weekend.

The National Weather has issued a wind advisory for today (February 21), which will be in effect until 10 a.m. tomorrow (February 22).

Our high desert could be standing up to gusts of 60 to 70 miles per hour today, tonight, and tomorrow morning. But just because the wind is easing up, don’t let your guard down. The National Weather Service has forecasted a chance of snow, possibly as soon as Wednesday night, with chances increasing well into the weekend. And even if it doesn’t snow, expect wet weather all weekend long.

Don’t look up for clear skies until Sunday (February 26). If you’re in an area where snow can impact your ability to leave the house, or where key dirt roads may wash away in rainfall, it may be a good idea to stock up on a few essentials.
