Join the Morongo Basin Historical Society for their first Wednesday Lecture Series of the year. On Wednesday, January 14, the topic will be “Joshua Trees: History and the Myths.” This lecture will be given by Chris Clarke, a natural history writer, environmental journalist for KCET and blogger. Clarke will answer questions about how climate change is going to affect the future survival and dispersion of the trees, how the species really got its name and why its survival is critical to bio-diversity in the park and our Morongo Basin. This series takes place at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and donation is $5. For more information call 760-364-2000.
