WEDNESDAY LECTURE IN YUCCA VALLEY TO FEATURE “GIANT ROCK” AND THE INTEGRATRON

The Morongo Basin Historical Society will continue its 2nd Wednesday Lecture Series on January 9 with a presentation about the folklore and legend of “Giant Rock” in Landers. History interpreter Barbara Harris has researched the 7 story, 25,000 ton granite boulder, known as “Giant Rock,” for over 30 years and is known for her lectures and tours to Giant Rock at Contact in the Desert. She will be sharing a condensed version of her years of research that include the boulder’s geology, Frank Critzer’s story, George Van Tassel’s Spacecraft Conventions, and the building of the Integratron. There is a recommended donation of $5 per person. The lecture will be held on January 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Cholla Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
