Thursday the Senate Special Budget Subcommittee on COVID-19 Response met for its first scheduled oversight hearing on how California is spending more than $1 billion to battle the coronavirus. The purpose of the bipartisan group is to review how the state plans to use the federal stimulus packages and to assist “communities in ensuring that this funding is promptly distributed.” A website has been set up that tracks the bills related to coronavirus and how the taxpayer funds are to be spent.
