WE SAY GOODBYE TO A VALUED Z107.7 FAMILY MEMBER

Today we wish fair winds and following seas to a long-time valued member of the Z107.7 family. Reporter Dan Stork, who offered dedication, humor, intellect and wit to our news coverage, is moving on to follow his heart…

I’ve been a part-time reporter at KCDZ-FM for over 13 years. It has provided the most fun I have had at any job I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of jobs I loved. I’ve had a front row seat for much of what affects the lives of people in the Morongo Basin, and the privilege to pass along to you what I’ve seen and heard. I am grateful to have had Gary Daigneault as teacher, employer, and colleague. His passion for and joy in what he does sets an example and a standard. He’s also given me the opportunity to step outside straight reporting and editorialize on issues about which I have felt strongly.

In recent months I’ve observed people who either didn’t or couldn’t take advantage of opportunities for exploring new possibilities in their lives. I’m 70 years old now, and I’m (knock wood) strong and healthy, with a strong voice and lots left to talk and write about, and lots of things I want to do and learn about. So I’m going to step away from Z107.7, and find my own way and make my own space.

With deep appreciation to everyone I’ve worked with at Z107.7 since 2002—especially Gary—and for my beats: the school district, the MAC, county affairs, environmental issues, with a particular soft spot for the officials and people of the City of Twentynine Palms, this is Dan Stork.
