Thought Theatre opened its latest production last night in Pioneertown and Rebecca Havely offers this review of the play…
Studio B in Pioneertown is a quaint intimate space befitting the intimate play “The Vagina Monologues”. There are many heartbreaking memorable moments but also some great laughs thanks to its talented cast. Director Miri Hunter has added some nice touches, fun props and apropos music to the piece. Bianca Stoker plays a sort of mistress of ceremonies who instantly puts the audience at ease. She passes out the various characters played amongst her cast mates Dawn Davis, Ann Van Haney and Lisa Diaz. All including Stoker take on several varied characters throughout. This Thought Theatre production is a thought provoking ensemble piece worth seeing.
“The Vagina Monologues” performs 7 p.m. tonight and 4 p.m. tomorrow in Studio B at 53722 Pioneertown Road. For tickets, visit projectsheba.com/thoughttheatre. The troupe will move its production to Theatre 29 for a special performance on Sunday, February 25th at 2:30 p. m. For those tickets visit theatre29.org.
